President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday night asked Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque why he got infected with COVID-19.
“Bakit ka nag-positive?” Duterte asked Roque during his weekly national address.
Roque then responded and said he was asymptomatic and an antigen test confirmed he was positive for the disease.
However, Roque is clueless about the matter but noted he visited several hospitals for COVID-19 vaccination program implementation.
The Palace official announced his COVID-19 infection during his Monday media briefing.
He also said he tested negative last March 10 before he went with Duterte for the inauguration of infrastructure projects in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
Roque then clarified that his illness will not hinder him from fulfilling his duties as the President’s Spokesperson.
“Tuloy-tuloy pa rin po ang mga press briefing. Tuloy-tuloy pa rin po lahat pero para ‘di po tayo mahawa, naka-isolate po ako,” Roque said.
