Resurgence PH's first match in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines Season 8 was a definite banger after they spoiled Bren Esports potential first win of the season last Sunday night.
Resurgence PH introduced themselves in the pro scene led by familiar names in Heath (formerly from Omega Esports) and Iy4knu (formerly from Onic Philippines).
"Tingin ko makakasabay talaga kami sa Bren," said RSG's Aqua after the match.
RSG started the series with a "pick-off" focused lineup with Heath's Ruby and Aqua's Saber engaging teamfights which proved too much for Bren as the game progressed, giving the former their first game victory of the season.
Bren's Ribo led his team to extend the series as his performance in Game 2 using a burst Kaja just melts RSG's double assassin lineup like hot knife through butter backed up by Karltzy's Ling bursting everyone in the back lines.
On a facebook post, Coach Duckeyyy of Bren Esports quote "We will regroup and change things up. I do apologize to our fans for failing you this time. I apologize to my team. We could have done better. We will do better.
Resurgence kept their composure heading into Game 3 with sustain centered lineup with Nathzzz Uranus, Iy4knu's Esmeralda and Heath's Rafaela to overwhelm Bren Esports' scaling heroes and seal the deal, 2-1.
After Week 1, Bren Esports are tied with Omega Esports, who lost against Echo Esports 0-2, and Nexplay Evos, who lost against TNC Pro Team also with a 0-2, in sixth place as they are yet to win a series in their next outings.
Resurgence stands in fifth place below TNC in 4th, Blacklist International and Onic PH tied for 2nd, and Echo Esports as 1st seed.
Bren Esports' next shot at winning a series will be on September 4 as they face TNC Pro Team while Resurgence looks to beat down another giant as they face the "Kings of Southeast Asia" Omega Esports on September 3.
