Susuportahan pa rin ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang senate bets ng kasalukuyang administrasyon bagamat binawi na nito ang kaniyang pagtakbo sa senado.

Ayon kay Salvador Panelo, dating chief legal counsel ng pangulo, mananatiling "rallying figure" at "torch bearer" si Duterte para sa senatorial candidates na inirekomenda ng administrasyon.

"While the President is no longer running for the Senate, he is however leading the ramparts to pave the way for the victory of the senatorial candidates of the administration... he will join the hustings and barnstorm the country for them." Saad ni Panelo.

Samantala, binawi ni Duterte ang pagkandidato sa 2022 senatorial elections ilang oras matapos umatras si Sen. Christopher "Bong" Go sa 2022 presidential race.

"He does not want to burden PRRD with him gunning for the highest post of the land while the President’s daughter is the running mate of one of the presidential contenders which necessarily will create opposing views on certain matters of governance as well as national issues," paliwanag ni Panelo.

Dagdag pa niya, "selfless act" umano ang ginawa ni Bong Go dahil hindi nito gustong maipit sa sitwasyon ang pangulo.

Tatakbo bilang bise presidente si Sara Duterte, ang anak ng pangulo, kasama si Bongbong Marcos Jr.

Matatandaang binatikos ni Duterte si Marcos at tinawag itong "spoiled, weak leader."
