On October 7, the seventh day of filing for the 2025 elections, Villar submitted her Certificate of Candidacy (CoC) in an effort to regain political prominence following her two terms as a senator.

She gained recognition for her work in public service, where she focused on rural development and agriculture.

"We are a family, but it has been done by my father since 1963. He bequeathed to us to love Las Piñas. And I thought, it's the memory of my father who really loved Las Piñas when he was alive," she stated, as the media seeks for the reason behind her candidacy.

Villar became visibly emotional as she spoke of her late father; she shared how deeply his legacy and values continue to inspire her.

Though she seemed unfazed by her rivals for the seat: Las Piñas City Councilor Mark Anthony Santos, professor Luisito Redoble, and senior high school teacher Barry Tayam, who are all dedicated to bringing an end to political dynasties in government.

"That's okay. I don't know them," she told the media, which garnered widespread mass attention.

“You made it a family business to protect your business interest and not really to serve the interest of your constituents,” read one comment.

She pledged her support for the people of Las Piñas in her announcement as a candidate. On the same day, Senator Villar's loyalists swarm the Regional Election Director-National Capital Region (ORED-NCR) Comelec headquarters—offering support for her candidacy.
