The 2024 season has ended, and 2025 has come to life one day at a time.

We lived through 2024 with different stories, struggles, and seasons of life. Some days thrived with hope and gratitude, some with fear and chaos, and others with mundanity. Now, we enter 2025 with manifestations — intentions, wishes, prayers, hopes, and everything in between — for ourselves, our family, and whatever it may be.


As the previous year closed on its books of our different lives, members of Explained PH have their personal manifestations for 2025. 

Amid past struggles and grim experiences, hoping for a change is a similar theme in their New Year's manifestations. In the face of social, economic, and environmental struggles, people still hold onto the string of hope for another year where progress, luck, peace, or change may come.

Manifesting for a “change” may mean different things, and for some Explained PH members, it means hoping for a change in academics, skills, life, or their work as youth journalists. Their manifestations involve life, health and wellness, education, success, growth, a better year than before, hobbies, dreams, and their work as youth journalists at the desk.

As Explained PH members shared their different themes of manifestation, they look forward to the year of transformation as a person, a child, a student, a professional, and a truth seeker. 

New Year’s Eve dreams may not immediately come to life when fireworks illuminate the sky, when one eats grapes to wish, when two palms silently whisper to the heavens, or when the clock hits midnight. But, at least for some, the new year offers collective hope that gives something to live for and hold onto.

For the present we want to cherish; for the future we want to create; for our childhood selves cheering on us within; for families who keep supporting us; for the past that we learned and reflected from; for the history of struggles; for the people; and for other “for’s” that we have, one thing is certain: we are all claiming a better and progressive new year to come in our lives.
