The upcoming 2025 national and local midterm elections in the Philippines will be heavily influenced by younger generations, with Millennials and Generation Z accounting for 63% of the voting-age population as of February 9, 2025, based on the data collected by GMA Integrated News Research.
According to data derived from the Commision on Elections (Comelec), the Philippines' voting population—or those of age to vote—increased by a little over 10 million to 75,940,535 for the 2025 national and local midterm elections, from 65,745,512 in 2022.
As of January 23, 2025, the Comelec data indicates that 69,673,655 individuals are registered to vote.
A generational breakdown of the voting population reveals that Millennials (born 1981–1996) comprise 25.94 million, accounting for 34.15% of the voting-age population, followed by Gen Z (born 1997–2007) with 21.87 million or 28.79%.
While Gen X (born 1965–1980) represents 17.64 million, making up 23.22%, and Baby Boomers and the Silent Generation (born 1928–1964) total 10.50 million, comprising 13.83% of the voting population.
These numbers highlight a generational shift, with Millennials and Gen Z forming the largest voting bloc, collectively making up 68% of registered voters for Eleksyon 2025.
Similar to the 2022 elections, Millennials remained the dominant voting group.
The most notable increase came from Gen Z voters, whose numbers rose sharply from 13.11 million in 2022 to 21.87 million in 2025.
