May Luna-Lumahan has decided to step away from volleyball, ending a 15-year career highlighted by championships, comeback seasons and a steady presence on every team she played for.

The 27-year-old Nxled wing spiker announced her retirement on Nov. 18, following the Chameleons’ final outing in the Premiere Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference against ZUS Coffee.

Luna-Lumahan rose to prominence as part of De La Salle University’s three-peat run in UAAP Seasons 78 to 80, a stretch that cemented her as one of the program’s dependable outside hitters.

She later continued her career in the PVL, where she became known for her work ethic and quiet leadership.

In her Instagram story posted by One Sports, she reflected on her journey and thanked volleyball for shaping much of her life, from the people she met to the lessons that helped her grow. She said she hopes her story encourages young athletes to stay committed to their craft.
