PBA star Justin Brownlee powered Gilas Pilipinas to a dominant 87-46 win over Guam, giving the team a strong start to its FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers campaign at Calvo Fieldhouse on Nov. 28.

Brownlee led the squad as he exploded with 22 points, two rebounds, and two assists, leading Gilas in the scoring department.

Despite the lopsided score, Guam challenged Gilas early, jumping ahead to take the early lead, and keeping the game tied at 17-17 by the end of the first quarter.

San Miguel guard Jericho Cruz tried carrying Guam on his back, but his turnovers affected his squad’s momentum in the following frame.

Guam’s struggles intensified in the third period, managing only seven points as Gilas unleashed an 18-0 run and never looked back.

Dwight Ramos added 10 points, complementing Brownlee, as all Gilas players contributed to the scoreboard.

Debuting big man Quentin Millora-Brown also made a remarkable first impression, helping AJ Edu and Junemar Fajardo inside the paint as the team recorded 61 boards for the match.

For Guam, Cruz finished with 17 points but committed six costly turnovers, while teammate Jonathan Galloway added eight.

Gilas will aim to secure a back-to-back win against Guam when they return home at the Ateneo Blue Eagle Gym on Dec. 1.
