Farm Fresh Foxies and Chery Tiggo Crossovers swept their way into the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) On Tour quarterfinals with dominant victories over Capital1 and Galeries Tower, respectively, on Saturday, August 2, at the Dasmariñas Arena.
The Foxies took care of business early in the day, dismantling the Solar Spikers in straight sets, 25–20, 25–15, 25–21, to secure their spot in the next round.
Trisha Tubu led the charge with 15 points off nine kills, four blocks, and two aces. Caitlin Viray and Lorene Toring added 11 points each in a balanced Farm Fresh attack.
Setter Alohi Robins‑Hardy provided stability with 15 excellent sets and five points, helping weather a brief rally by Capital1 in the third frame.
After the Solar Spikers tied it at 20-all, the Foxies strung together key plays, including a Viray kill and a block from Robins-Hardy, to regain momentum before a Toring service ace sealed the win.
“We know people still see us as the new team, but we’re here to fight,” said Tubu. “We’re not just happy to be in the quarters—we’re here to win.”
Farm Fresh advances to face defending champions Creamline Cool Smashers on August 4 at the Tahanang Walang Hagdanan Gym in Cainta, Rizal.
Later that day, Chery Tiggo Crossovers joined them in the quarterfinals after fending off a feisty Galeries Tower side, 25–23, 25–22, 25–21.
The Highrisers outscored the Crossovers in attacks, 45–37, but were undone by 29 unforced errors and Chery Tiggo’s timely execution under pressure.
Cess Robles finished with 13 points and anchored key defensive stands, while Ara Galang turned in a standout two-way performance with 11 points and 11 digs, leading crucial scoring stretches late in each set.
“We knew Galeries would come out strong, so we focused on communication and reminding each other to stay calm and play smart,” said Galang. “Every point counts now—we’re not taking anything for granted.”
The Crossovers now look ahead to their quarterfinal matchup with the Nxled Chameleons, also on August 4 in Cainta, as the race to the PVL On Tour semifinals intensifies.
