AirAsia Philippines announced that they are searching for new flight attendants for their company with senior high school graduates being welcomed to apply.
In a press release on Aug. 18, the airline said that they are starting to change their ways in their recruitment through an inclusive system.
“AirAsia Philippines is pioneering a game changing process, breaking stereotypes and pushing forward an inclusive cabin crew recruitment,” the article read.
AirAsia stated that cabin crew applicants need not to wear formal attire with full make-up, but instead can go into a ‘cost-friendly’ outfit by wearing white t-shirt, jeans, and casual rubber shoes for male applicants; and white shirt, denim skirts, and heels for female ones.
During the screening, the airline will scrap the usual runway screening and would rather immerse the aspirants into a realistic approach.
“Cabin crew aspirants will immerse themselves in a more realistic work environment, setting aside the usual runway screening with a more service and guest-oriented approach during the selection process,” the statement read.
“We are reimagining the way we do our recruitment process to focus more on the essentials—talent, attitude and skills needed to become a successful cabin crew,” AirAsia added.
The application period for aspiring flight attendants will run from Aug. 20 until 29, every Wednesday from 10AM to 12NN.
