RATING: FALSE

CONCLUSION:

An “AI-generated content” label is visible at the bottom-left corner of the image, indicating that the photo was artificially generated. The placard also contains suspicious case numbers with an invented station prefix and consecutive placeholder digits “1234,” “1235,” and “1236,” rather than details consistent with genuine court records. Official records and statements further confirm that no legitimate mugshot of Duterte was taken.

THE FACTS:

• On September 5, Duterte voluntarily appeared before the Quezon City Hall of Justice to post ₱360,000 bail following an arrest warrant issued by Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 98 over three counts of grave threats.
• As part of the bail process, Duterte submitted her own recent photos and fingerprints directly to the court, according to her lawyer, Paul Lawrence Lim.
• Court guidelines require additional documents from the police only when an accused has been arrested or detained. These requirements do not apply when a person voluntarily appears in court to post bail.
• The fabricated image began circulating shortly after Duterte posted bail, falsely making it appear that she had been photographed by the police.
