Unblemished DLSU outlasts Adamson in 5; UST secures 3rd straight win over UP

In a five-set affair, the Lady Spikers stood tall against the Lady Falcons, earning a 19–25, 25–20, 25–21, 13–25, 15–5 victory to remain unscathed this season.

Proving their elite volleyball pedigree, DLSU delivered the decisive blow with an 8–0 run in the fifth set, with Shane Reterta scoring the game-clinching point to secure the Lady Spikers’ sixth consecutive win.

Leading the charge, Angel Canino was named Player of the Match after tallying 19 points from 18 attacks and one block, helping La Salle recover from Adamson’s fourth-set surge.

DLSU team captain Shevana Laput also played a crucial role in the win, especially in the deciding set, delivering well-timed hits to finish with a career-high 26 points.

Despite Adamson’s late push and the combined 43-point effort from Shaina Nitura and Frances Mordi, the Lady Falcons fell short as La Salle capitalized on its clutch plays in the final stretch.

Looking to maintain their fiery 6–0 record as the first round nears its end, the Lady Spikers will face defending champions National University Lady Bulldogs on March 14 at the same venue.

UST claims third straight win

Meanwhile, the Golden Tigresses bounced back after dropping the opening set to defeat the Fighting Maroons, 16–25, 25–13, 25–19, 25–20.

Refusing to let UP mount a comeback, UST held firm in the closing sets to secure its third win of the season.

Leading the Tigresses was Angge Poyos, who delivered another standout performance with 24 points built on 20 attacks, three blocks, and a service ace.

UST will aim to extend its winning streak when it faces FEU on March 13.
