Carlo Biado’s title defense ends as Ko Ping Chung storms into World 10-Ball final

Carlo Biado’s spirited title defense at the 2025 Predator WPA Men’s 10-Ball World Championship ended in the semifinals after Ko Ping Chung dealt him a commanding 3-0 sweep in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Sept. 27.

Ko raced through the opening set in just 30 minutes, stringing two break-and-runs to secure a 4-1 win on a flawless 100% pot success rate.

Biado struck back with break-and-runs of his own in Set 2, carving out a 3-1 advantage that briefly signaled momentum for the Filipino cue artist.

The Taiwanese, however, showcased steely resolve, mounting a stunning rally to snatch the frame 4-3 and seize control of the match.

Locked at 2-2 in the third, Ko capitalized on Biado’s slim errors and finished with ruthless precision, taking the set 4-2 and sealing his place in the final.

The defeat closed the curtain on Biado’s run, one that reminded fans of the 2017 World 9-Ball champion’s pedigree, the 2021 US Open winner’s composure, and the 2024 World 10-Ball king’s enduring brilliance.

With no bronze-medal playoff in the event format, Biado officially takes a 3rd-4th place finish, sharing bronze honors with the fellow semifinalist who likewise bowed out in the Final Four.

Even in exit, the “Black Tiger” reaffirmed his stature as the face of Filipino billiards, while Ko Ping Chung advanced to Sunday’s championship match.
