Galeries snaps 17-game skid vs. ZUS; Nxled sweeps Capital1 for back-to-back wins

Galeries Tower Highrisers finally broke through a 17-game losing streak, after denying the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles a comeback. While the Nxled Chameleons took off to their second consecutive win, sweeping Capital1 Solar Spikers in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the Ynares Center in Montalban, Rizal on Feb. 7.

Ending a slump that stretched back to February last year, the Highrisers outlasted the Thunderbelles, 25–20, 25–22, 23–25, 22–25, 15–10, to earn their first win of the conference.

Galeries seized early control by taking the opening two sets, going back-and-forth against the Thunderbelles before pulling away late in both frames.

Galeries mounted a late surge in the third set, trimming ZUS’ 16–9 cushion but eventually fell short.

The Thunderbelles carried that energy into the fourth set, leaning on a sturdier defensive stand to force a deciding fifth.

In the final set, Galeries regained its footing and pulled away late, punctuated by a match-clinching hit from Jean Asis to seal the breakthrough victory.

Asis finished with nine points, while Erika Deloria paced the Highrisers with 18 points and 15 receptions.

Meanwhile, Nxled extended its strong start in the league as they dominated the Solar Spikers, 25–18, 28–26, 25–18.

The Chameleons showed composure under pressure, erasing early deficits of 7–0 and 8–4 in the opening two sets before asserting control.

Nxled fended off multiple challenges in a tight second frame, edging Capital1, 28–26, to keep the Solar Spikers at bay.

Brooke Van Sickle, alongside Myla Pablo, led the Chameleons with 15 points each, as Lyann de Guzman and MJ Phillips chipped in 13 and 10, respectively.

Bella Belen delivered a game-high 23 points for Capital1, but the effort fell short as the Solar Spikers dropped their second straight match.

Galeries will take on Farm Fresh Foxies, while Nxled will exchange spikes with Cignal HD Spikers on Feb. 14, Saturday.
