Aliligay, Salazar rule 2025 National Duathlon Championships

Lowegene Aliligay and Katrina Salazar showed outstanding endurance to top the 2025 National Duathlon Championships at Bacoor, Cavite on Oct. 19.

Aliligay, all the way from Isabela, clocked in at 58 minutes and 51 seconds to win the men’s senior elite division and bring home his first national title.

Daniel Cadavos almost scraped behind Aliligay as he finished in 58 minutes and 56, while Mark Ryan Lago from Cavite took bronze at 1:01:57.

Salazar, on the other hand, ruled the women’s senior elites at 1:07:25 for her second national title.

The University of the East student won her first gold in the National Aquathlon Championships last year.

Jena Valdez trailed behind Salazar, finishing at 1:08:30 on her clock.

Meanwhile in the junior divisions, Eric Joachim Hechanova and Anisha Eunice Caluya triumphed in their respective categories.

Hechanova secured first place, clocking at 58:38 to successfully fly past Go for Gold teammate Justhene Navaluna who finished 21 seconds behind, 58:59.

Caluya finished ahead of Dhana Victoria Seda-Lomboy at 1:13:08, compared to the runner-up’s 1:13:28.
