Heading catches fire as TNT levels finals series against Ginebra

Jordan Heading rose to the occasion and powered the TNT Tropang 5G past a gritty Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, 106–98, in the crucial Game 4 of the 2026 PBA Commissioner’s Cup finals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, June 10.

With neither side yielding in the second half, Heading activated his A-game when it mattered most, fueling TNT’s offense to zoom to an 18-point lead, 88–70, and never looked back to level the series at 2-all.

The sweet-shooting lefty also sizzled from deep with five dagger threes to produce 29 points and eight assists, while also proving to be a vital building block for Chris McCollough’s 24 points and 14 rebounds.

Calvin Oftana also had a balanced performance of 12 points and six rebounds to bolster the scoring department.

In a post-game interview, TNT’s head tactician coach Chot Reyes applauded Heading’s hot shooting as well as the team’s balanced performance that ultimately paved the way to victory.“

Jordan had a good shooting night, but it was the combination of that and our defense that kept us in the ball game and gave us a chance,” shared coach Reyes.

Meanwhile, core players Justin Brownlee and RJ Abbarrientos carried much of the scoring burden for Ginebra, dishing 32 and 21 baskets, respectively, but all of that was for naught as no one lived up to backstop their efforts.

“We can’t rely on Justin that much. He’s carrying too heavy of a load… We’re just too Justin-reliant right now,” shared Ginebra coach Tim Cone.

The Gin Kings have much to rectify in their attack after being outrebounded 6-17 on the glass by the Tropang 5G.TNT now looks to tighten its hold on its newfound momentum over Ginebra as action resumes on Friday, June 12, at the Big Dome.
