Filipino gymnastics star Carlos Yulo capped off an impressive campaign at the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships with two podium finishes, seizing gold in vault and bronze in floor exercise at the Indonesia Arena in Jakarta, Oct. 25.

With an average score of 14.866 in the vault final, the Olympian reigned supreme edging out Armenia’s Artur Davtyan who scored 14.833 and Ukraine’s Nazar Chepurnyi with 14.483.

Yulo also impressed with a 15.200 in his first vault and a 14.533 in his second to seal his second world title in the event, following his 2021 triumph.

The victory marked Yulo’s third World Championships gold medal, adding to his vault crown from 2021 and his floor exercise title from 2019 in Germany.

A day earlier, Yulo also earned a bronze medal in floor exercise, scoring 14.533 with a difficulty mark of 5.900 and an execution score of 8.566.

He finished behind Great Britain’s Jake Jarman with a score of 14.866 and Luke Whitehouse who scored 14.666, who took gold and silver, respectively.

Yulo’s dual podium finish in Jakarta reaffirmed his status as one of the world’s top gymnasts and extended his string of international success following his double gold performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
