Aurora Gaming PH survives SRG scare, clinches M7 grand finals berth

Aurora Gaming PH weathered a five-game battle against Selangor Red Giants (SRG), pulling through with a 3–2 win in the M7 World Championship upper bracket finals to move one step away from another world title, Jan. 22.

The Filipinos leaned on late-game composure and sharper objective play to escape SRG’s repeated rallies, booking a spot in the Jan. 25 grand finals and extending the country’s run of dominance on the M7 stage—having the chance to secure the Philippines’ sixth straight title.


SRG, which pushed the series to the limit behind aggressive drafts and high-risk fights, dropped to the lower bracket and will need one more win to force a rematch.

Aurora set the tone in Game 1 through disciplined teamfighting and timely objective takes, repeatedly punishing SRG’s high-risk engagements to claim the series opener.

SRG responded in Game 2 with improved coordination, capitalizing on Aurora’s missteps in key fights and securing late objectives to level the matchup.

Aurora bounced back in Game 3 by asserting control early, applying constant lane pressure and executing cleaner rotations to build an insurmountable lead before SRG could recover.

SRG stayed alive in Game 4 after seizing map control and dismantling Aurora’s defenses in the late game, forcing the series to a deciding fifth map.

In Game 5, Aurora came through in crunch time, winning the pivotal Lord fight and translating it into a decisive final push to clinch the series.

SRG will face the winner of the lower bracket semifinals on Jan. 24 for a chance to earn a rematch with Aurora in the grand finals.
