FALSE: Official telecom company offers free 51 GB data this Labor Day

There have been suspicious links circulating that allow users to receive 51 GB worth of free data that is good for three months.

CLAIM: The deal claims that prepaid users will receive 51 GB worth of free data through the link, valid for three months, in celebration of the 124th Labor Day on May 1, 2026.

CONCLUSION: There is no verified post or statement from official telecom providers, such as Globe, DITO, and Smart, that they will be giving away 51 GB worth of free data for the 124th Labor Day. 

The facts:

• Official telecom companies only use their official websites or pages to announce their promos. Globe’s posting for Labor Day does not mark a giveaway of free 51 GB data.
• The format is not new, as identical ‘free data’ offers have circulated too in commemoration of Good Friday, which has been debunked as a phishing scheme.
• Such links usually redirect users to fake sites, asking for the following information, which legitimate telecom companies do not ask for:
  • Phone numbers
  • Share to others to receive the reward
  • Facebook logins
