Notching its first triumph in the season, the Giant Pandas rallied from a 19-point deficit to bring down the Giantrisers in a 132-126 victory, improving to 1–4.
Making his season debut, Jenning Leung erupted for 22 points behind four triples and a four-point shot while reinforcement De’Vondre Perry powered the Giant Pandas with a monster double-double night with 32 markers and 22 boards.
Macau seized a slim 95–94 advantage heading entering the fourth quarter before fending off Titan Ultra’s late rally to threaten a comeback.
Meanwhile, Terrafirma survived a furious TNT comeback after nearly blowing up an 18-point lead, escaping with a 111–106 overtime victory to snap the Tropang 5G’s three-game winning streak.
Knocking down shots when it mattered most, Juami Tiongson sank two-out-of-four buckets from orange county as he notched 24 points and two assists to stave off TNT’s comeback bid.
In a post-game interview with the Terrafirma sniper, Tiongson expressed the thrill that they felt during crunch time.
“I’m so speechless, but credit to my teammates. We played with all heart and we stayed aggressive,” said Tiongson.
Despite rallying to force overtime, TNT’s late push fell short as Terrafirma held its composure to ultimately secure the victory.
