ANINAG Terno Exhibit to Launch at UP Diliman

Third-year Bachelor of Science in Clothing Technology (BSCT) students from the University of the Philippines Diliman will launch ANINAG, this year’s Ternocraft exhibit, on September 21 at 2:00 p.m. at the fourth floor of the UP College of Home Economics Museum.

Ternocraft serves as the culmination of lectures and discussions in CTech 41: Philippine Clothing and Textiles, where students create baros to be paired with saya de cola pieces from the Jurado Studies Collection, an archive of terno sets housed in the museum.

The project provides BSCT students with a platform to demonstrate their creative and technical skills while introducing visitors to the history, craftsmanship, and cultural heritage of the terno.

According to the organizers, ANINAG seeks to separate the terno as a garment and art form from its most renowned wearer, Imelda Marcos, while recognizing the communities and artisans whose work contributed to its history.

The exhibit also coincides with the 54th anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law and invites visitors to examine the historical narratives surrounding the terno during and beyond the Marcos Sr. regime.

Organizers will release designer features, process showcases, and vignettes throughout the duration of the exhibit to further highlight the stories behind the featured ternos. 

Organized by a team of BS Clothing Technology juniors, the exhibit will be open to the public from September 21 until November 30, 2026.
