AK outsmarts RGN to claim PGDX 2025 Tekken Title

NAVI’s golden boy, Alexandre “AK” Laverez, once again proved why he’s the face of Philippine Tekken.

With nerves of steel and the rhythm of a true prodigy, AK outplayed INV’s Michael “RGN” Balaga with a clutch final‑round combo counter that sealed a hard‑earned 3–2 victory, crowning him the PGDX 2025 Tekken 7 Champion on Sunday, July 27.

Piloting his signature Shaheen against RGN’s Bryan, AK rose above a field of over 65 elite competitors, delivering ice‑cold reads and pinpoint execution that lit up the PGDX stage.

Meanwhile, RGN struck first, stunning AK with back-to-back rage drive finishes to race to a 2–0 lead, but despite AK tying it at 2–2 with tighter punishments, a last-second rage art from RGN snatched the opening set.

Refusing to let the momentum slip, AK came back more composed in the second game, breaking down RGN’s offense with precise sidesteps and whiff penalties to secure a convincing 3–1 set winner to tie the match.

Holding the composure in the next set, AK rode the wave in the third—executing sharp reads, low parries, and wall combos in a clean sweep that put him one set away from the title, 2-1.

However, RGN answered with grit, flipping the script with three straight games in the fourth set to level the match at 2–2 and force a high-stakes final round.

In the decider, both traded early blows, but AK dug deep, landing a launcher, converting into a momentum-shifting combo, and closing with a perfectly timed sidestep into rage drive to seal the championship in electric fashion.
