Baby Lancers down Baby Warriors; CIT-U Junior Wildcats top UCMN Junior Webmasters

University of Visayas (UV) Baby Lancers showed no mercy to the San Carlos School of Cebu (SCSC) Baby Warriors, while the Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Junior Wildcats stifled the University of Cebu Baby Webmasters in their season-opener match-up in the 2025 Cesafi Season 25 basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum, September 20.

The twin victories kept the Baby Lancers unbeaten at 2-0, while giving CIT-U a triumphant debut, setting an early tone in the Cesafi Season 25 high school division.

UV dictated the pace throughout an 82-64 win over the Baby Warriors to secure their second straight win in the tournament.

Best player of the match Carl Jacob Cortes led the charge with 25 points, two rebounds, three assists, and a steal.

The Junior Wildcats, meanwhile, clawed past the Junior Webmasters, 79-67. CIT-U erased UC’s early edge to build a 40-29 halftime lead and never looked back.

Geoffe Von Partosa delivered a well-rounded performance with 16 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and seven steals.

UV Baby Lancers look to sustain their momentum against the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Baby Panthers on September 23, while the Junior Wildcats face the UCLM Junior Webmasters again on Saturday.
