Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano encouraged the public to participate in ongoing protests during the rally organized by the religious group Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) at the EDSA People Power Monument on Tuesday, June 30.

Members of the religious group Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) held the rally to express support for Sen. Rodante Marcoleta, who is facing a non-bailable plunder case filed by the Office of the Ombudsman over an alleged ₱75 million in undisclosed campaign donations.

Cayetano urged netizens to leverage their social media and set up small communities if they cannot participate in major rallies.

Cayetano explained that engaging in social media allows the public to show solidarity without causing disruptions.

He argues that public awareness on social media serves as a counterweight against what he described as the political weaponization of non-bailable charges against political figures.

He also warned the public that the Senate is losing members due to cases filed against them, hinting that proceedings such as the impeachment trial against Vice President Sara Duterte may face difficulties.

Cayetano appealed to the public to intervene rather than relying solely on the courts to handle the cases filed against fellow senators, warning that legal processes fail when the justice system is weaponized against certain figures.

“Pag injustice na po, kailangan iharang na natin ang ating mga katawan,” he insisted.

Cayetano urged the public to raise awareness about the situation of the country, adding that those who cannot post should offer prayers instead.

“Now, if you can’t make it to EDSA but you have a small community, gather together—even if it’s just 10, 20, or 30 people. Post it on social media,” he added.
