Farm Fresh, Creamline secure last PVL AFC semis slots

With only two semifinal spots left up for grabs, the Farm Fresh Foxies and Creamline Cool Smashers secured their places after decisive victories in the play-in phase of the 2026 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the FilOil Centre, April 7.

The Farm Fresh Foxies, who previously absorbed a five-set loss to Nxled last February, eventually barged into their first-ever PVL semifinals after sweeping their foe, 25–17, 25–20, 25–19.

Farm Fresh set the tone early, capitalizing on sharp attacking and disciplined floor defense to take control of the opening set. 

The Foxies carried that momentum into the second frame, fending off brief Nxled resistance with timely hits to move within one set of the semis.

Meanwhile, Nxled showed signs of life in the third, even taking an early 8–6 lead, but Farm Fresh crawled back with a decisive 10–1 run to seize a 16–9 advantage and never looked back.

Trisha Tubu led the balanced attack with 12 points built on 10 attacks and two blocks, while Ces Molina added 10 markers. 

Ara Galang chipped in nine, as Farm Fresh spread the scoring load to overwhelm Nxled.

On the opposing squad, Brooke Van Sickle paced Nxled with 13 points, while MJ Phillips contributed 11 in their losing efforts.

In the other knockout duel, the Creamline Cool Smashers leaned on their championship experience to subdue the Akari Chargers, 25–23, 25–20, 16–25, 25–16, and secure the last semifinal ticket on the same day.

Creamline had to grind out the opening set, surviving multiple deadlocks before capitalizing on Akari’s late blunders to draw first blood. 

The Cool Smashers followed it up with a more controlled second set, executing efficiently on both ends to build a two-set cushion.

Akari refused to go quietly, dominating the third set behind the trio of Ivy Lacsina, Ced Domingo, and Eli Soyud to extend the match.

Yet Creamline quickly regrouped in the fourth, unleashing a decisive 6–0 run that turned a slim 6–4 edge into a comfortable 12–4 advantage, effectively breaking the game open.

Veteran star Alyssa Valdez powered Creamline with a stellar performance of 20 points, on 19 attacks and digs, and eight receptions, while Bernadeth Pons and Jeanette Panaga added 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Lacsina led Akari with 13 points, while Fifi Sharma contributed 12, and Eli Soyud and Ced Domingo chipped in 11 apiece.

With the semifinal lineup now complete, the league’s top four teams, together with Cignal and PLDT, are set to clash starting April 11 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
