Cathryn Limketkai carved another podium finish for Philippine figure skating, clinching the bronze medal in the women’s division of the Crystal Skate Open 2025 in Tallinn, Estonia, Sept. 2.
The 21-year-old Filipina standout amassed 142.42 points, placing behind Finland’s Linnea Ceder (166.65) and Estonia’s Kristina Lisovskaja (165.89), who secured the gold and silver medals, respectively.
Opening with a 48.11 in the short program for fourth place, Limketkai rebounded in the free skate with 94.31, a score that ultimately vaulted her to third overall.
Ceder, however, proved unshakable from start to finish, topping the short program with 63.60 and maintaining her lead with 103.05 in the free skate.
Lisovskaja mounted a late charge, notching the evening’s best long program score of 107.64, nearly stealing the crown before settling for silver.
For Limketkai, the result stands as another milestone in her steady international ascent, underscoring her ability to contend with Europe’s elite.
Her bronze adds to the Philippines’ growing figure skating narrative, extending the trail blazed by compatriot Michael Martinez and fueling hopes for deeper breakthroughs as the new season unfolds.
