MISLEADING: Luistro intended to pay 8M debt to VP Duterte

An online post has claimed that House Representative Gerville Luistro made a statement saying that she intended to pay the alleged debt she owes Vice President Sara Duterte, but had refrained from doing so when Duterte posted something about her and had even done an interview. 

CLAIM:

A Facebook post has insinuated that Rep. Luistro said that she planned to pay Duterte the alleged 8M-peso debt she supposedly owed. Thereafter, she changed her mind because according to the post, Duterte made a post about her and even had an interview. 

“Babayaran ko sana siya eh, kaso pinost niya ako eh, nagpainterview pa’ (tungkol sa P8M na utang kay VP Sara).” The post said. 

RATING: MISLEADING

CONCLUSION:

There are no records from any credible sources that Rep. Luistro made such a statement. 

THE FACTS: 

• Duterte alleged that Luistro has a debt of 8M pesos to her husband.

While several social-media posts have circulated stating almost the same if not the same thing, this does not mean that it is factual.
