PH to host FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup — PSC

The Philippines will host the inaugural FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup from Nov. 21 to Dec. 7, 2025, with PhilSports Arena in Pasig City designated as the main venue for the 16-nation tournament as announced by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) on Nov. 16.

World Cup veterans Jaclyn Sawicki, Katrina Guillou and Isabella Flanigan, who played for the Philippines in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, will lead the 16-player Filipina5 roster. 

Other players include Shai del Campo, Dionesa Tolentin, Charisa Lemoran, Lanie Ortillo, Isabella Bandoja and Rocelle Mendaño.

Goalkeepers Samantha Hughes and Kayla Santiago will anchor the defensive end, while overseas-based players Cathrine Graversen and Judy Connolly join FEU standout Regine Rebosora to round out the lineup. 

The squad is coached by Rafael Merino.

Ranked No. 63 globally, the Philippines was drawn into Group A alongside No. 14 Poland, No. 31 Morocco and No. 6 Argentina. 

The Filipina5 open their campaign against Poland on Nov. 21, followed by matches against Morocco on Nov. 24 and Argentina on Nov. 27.

With the Philippines hosting the recently concluded FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship last September, the World Cup marks the first-ever staging of a women’s futsal championship under FIFA, where teams from four continents set to compete as the country hosts its largest indoor football event to date.
