Cignal and PLDT secured their spots in the semifinals of the 2026 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference after contrasting victories in the qualifying round at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, March 26.

The Cignal Super Spikers outlasted Creamline in a grueling five-set battle, 25–21, 24–26, 18–25, 25–22, 17–15, to claim the second outright semifinal berth.

Trailing one set to two, Cignal showed resilience down the stretch, forcing a deciding frame and holding its composure in a tense extended fifth set.

The Super Spikers found themselves on the brink late in the decider but capitalized on crucial errors by Creamline to seal the win after nearly three hours of play.

Erika Santos paced Cignal with 26 points, while Vanie Gandler delivered 22 markers and came through in key moments of the match.

Setter Gel Cayuna orchestrated the offense with 35 excellent sets and added 11 points in an all-around performance.

PLDT books first spot in semis

Earlier in the day, PLDT became the first team to book a semifinal ticket after defeating Farm Fresh in four sets, 18–25, 25–23, 25–15, 25–22.

The High Speed Hitters overcame a slow start, dropping the opening frame before regaining control behind a balanced attack and steady floor defense.

Kianna Dy led PLDT with 19 points, while Savi Davison delivered timely hits to fend off a late push from the Foxies.

With both wins, Cignal joined PLDT in the semifinals, with the remaining slots to be determined through the play-in phase.

The semifinal round is set to begin April 11 at Mall of Asia Arena.
