Rondina-Pons, Abdilla-Buytrago rule PNVF Nuvali Invitational 

The power was unmistakable in Nuvali.

Alas Pilipinas standouts Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons, along with Ram Abdilla and James Buytrago, capped their campaigns by sweeping the women’s and men’s titles of the PNVF Nuvali Invitational Beach Volleyball Championship in Laguna on Nov. 16.

Rondina and Pons rallied past Dij Rodriguez and Sunny Villapando in a reverse-sweep victory, 11-21, 21-15, 15-6, to claim the women’s crown.

Rodriguez and Villapando settled for a runner-up finish.

On the men’s side, Abdilla and Buytrago delivered a similarly dominant outing, 21-12, 21-10, defeating Rancel Varga and Ronniel Rosales to secure the title. 

The pair leaned on punishing hits, smart shot placement and timely service aces to keep control throughout the match.

The tournament serves as key preparation for the champions as they gear up for the SEA Games 2025 in December.
