Yulo brothers miss out on additional medals in Asian Championships finale 

Carlos and Eldrew Yulo failed to add to their joint gold-and-bronze medal haul as both missed the podium in the parallel bar and horizontal bar finals of the 2026 Asian Gymnastics Championships held in Zunyi, China, June 21.

Carlos finished sixth-place with a score of 13.566 in the senior men’s parallel bars finals built on a 8.066 execution on a 5.4 difficulty score, alongside a 0.100 stick bonus.

China’s Boheng Zhang (14.933), South Korea’s Sunghyun Ryu (14.500), and Chinese Taipei bet Yuan-Hsi Hung (13.800) rounded up the top-three finishers for the said event.

Meanwhile, both siblings also missed out on adding more accolades into their haul as Eldrew (13.833) and Caloy (13.500) copped the fourth and fifth spots in the senior men’s horizontal bar finals, respectively.

Chia-Hung Tang of Chinese Taipei led the pack with gold on a 15.500 score, while Zhang (15.000) followed up his parallel-bar gold finish with a silver, as Japan’s Fusuke Maeda completed the podium with a bronze finish off a 14.300 output.

The two-time Olympic medalist was on the cusp of cracking the top three senior men’s all-around apparatus with a compiled 81.864 score, though gymnasts Zhang (85.298), fellow Chinese bet Haonan Yang (82.398), and Japan’s Teppei Miwa (82.265) emerged as all-around podium finishers.

Despite being rendered unable to continue their winning ways on the last day of the Asian Gymnastics Championships, the Yulos still delivered in their joint senior debut on the said Asian meet as Caloy maintained his floor exercise crown, while his younger brother Eldrew notched bronze and his maiden senior medal on the same event.
