Nxled survives in 5-set thriller; Capital1 downs ZUS Coffee

Nxled and Capital1 kicked off their respective 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference campaigns on a winning note, after surviving separate challenges at the FilOil EcoOil Centre on Tuesday, Feb. 3.

The Chameleons, bannered by a revamped roster built around former Petro Gazz standouts, leaned on the clutch performances of Brooke Van Sickle and Myla Pablo to secure their first win against Farm Fresh, 25–23, 13–25, 21–25, 25–15, 15–12.

Three-time Most Valuable Player Van Sickle powered Nxled with 20 points, built on 18 attacks and two blocks, while also contributing 11 receptions.

Pablo added 19 markers and six digs, earning Player of the Game honors after delivering a 45% attacking efficiency.

MJ Phillips also made her presence felt with 13 points as Nxled’s new core immediately clicked in its conference debut.

After dropping the second and third sets, Nxled rediscovered its rhythm in the fourth canto and forced a deciding fifth set, where the duo delivered timely attacks down the stretch.

Deadlocked at 10-all in the final set, Van Sickle and Pablo spearheaded a decisive 4–0 lead that gave Nxled control of the match.

Although Farm Fresh threatened late, a service error by the Foxies sealed the hard-fought victory for the Chameleons.

Belen lifts Capital1 past ZUS Coffee

In the second match, Capital1 leaned on Bella Belen’s explosive outing to defeat ZUS Coffee in four sets, 25–17, 25–16, 15–25, 25–19.

Belen charged for a game-high 26 points, backed on 24 attacks and two service aces, while also contributing 16 digs and seven receptions in an all-around performance.

Shaya Adorador and Ysa Jimenez also contributed 14 and 13 points to the team, respectively, helping the Solar Spikers maintain control despite a third-set rout from the Thunderbelles.

Capital1 regained its rhythm in the fourth set behind Belen’s scoring surge to shut down ZUS Coffee and secure its opening-day victory.

With their wins, Nxled and Capital1 both improved to 1–0 to start the conference, while Farm Fresh and ZUS Coffee absorbed early setbacks at 0–1.
