The University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters and the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Lady Jaguars emerged victorious in the V-League Visayas volleyball finals, clinching the men’s and women’s titles, respectively, at the USJ-R Basak Campus Coliseum, July 27.
In the men’s division, UC outlasted the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) in four tight sets, 26–24, 18–25, 25–23, 25–23, adding another trophy after winning the CESAFI crown earlier this year.
Quiades Labos starred for the Webmasters with 23 points, including 22 kills, while Ryan Pantilgan added 16 markers and Jose Ilustrisimo chipped in 12.
Meanwhile, the women’s final saw the Lady Jaguars sweep Lady Warriors in a stunning upset, 25–22, 25–23, 25–15, capping off a redemption run after only finishing third in last year’s Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation and Incorporation (CESAFI) tourney.
Rookie standout Rachel Tecson exploded for 19 points on 13 kills and six aces, backed by Lyn Densing with 10 and Christle Tamayo with seven points.
The Lady Warriors struggled offensively, with no player scoring in double digits and top scorer Rose Bisnar limited to just 5 points.
V-League Visayas participating schools now shift their attention for CESAFI’s 25th season, with its grand opening happening in September 2025.
