Nxled, PLDT weaves in 1st PVL On Tour victories 

Flaunting a masterclass right from get-go, Nxled swatted an undermanned Capital1 Solar Spikers squad via straight-sets dispatch, 25–17, 25–23, 25–25-18, to bag their first preseason win.

The Chameleons capitalized on the absence of Capital1 key players—Bella Belen, Erika Santos, and Vanie Gandler—who all suited up for Alas Pilipinas duties.

Myla Pablo stuffed up the stats sheets with 17 points off of 12 attacks, four blocks and an ace while Jonah Sabete-Escamillan reinforced her 13 markers, as the Chameleons moved to a 1–1 record.

Carrying the pivotal momentum onset all the way to the third frame, the Chameleons fused three straight attacks courtesy of Escamillan to push a 21–18 cushion before the veteran duo of MJ Philips and Pablo penned the end for Capital1’s fightback and sealed the win.

Meanwhile, Shaya Adorador pioneered the yellow-clad troops with six points including nine digs and eight receptions, with Trisha Genesis and Ysa Jimenez adding five markers each.

Nxled will next face the Galeries Tower Highrisers on August 1, as Capital1 will continue their campaign against Creamline Cool Smashers on August 8.

PLDT averts 2nd-set disaster 

Refusing to wilt away following a second-frame stumble, the High Speed Hitters rained down at all angles to squeak past Choco Mucho Flying Titans with a 25–21, 20–25, 29–27, 25–18 victory.

Kianna Dy dazzled the court with her 17-point performance, while Savi Davison and Mika Reyes delivered 13 and 12 markers, respectively, that ultimately drove them to their first win in the tourney.

The red-hot belles overcame deuce jitters in the third canto when Reyes went on back-to-back attacks to hand PLDT a slim 28–27 lead before Alleiah Malaluan sealed the penultimate grind with a down-the-line hit. 

From thereon, PLDT resumed their found momentum after stringing a 10–7 burst and later carried it down the stretch to complete the win.

Caitlyn Viray led the way for the Flying Titans with 16 points, as the squad slipped to a 0–2 record.

Choco Mucho seeks to recover as they clash with Akari on August 1, while PLDT is set to encounter ZUS Coffee on August 8.
